I started volunteering for the Haven in 2017. During all the years of feeding, scooping and cleaning I’ve met hundreds of cats that called it their home.
One of the most unique was Tina.
She was best described as cantankerous. She might let you pet her, or she might swat at you. Volunteers eventually learned to determine what kind of mood she was in before approaching to pet her. Tina was the only cat I’ve been around who would hiss and growl and huff and puff while you were playing with her. I wasn’t sure whether she was having fun or just getting her aggression out.
She was definitely a character, and I wasn’t sure if she would ever get adopted. But sure enough, one day somebody came in and fell in love with her and gave her a home.
The Haven provides a home for all types of kitties – cute, cuddly, cranky, relaxed, energetic, affectionate,…
And each one is just waiting for the right human to come meet them and take them to their forever home.
