Bailey Update - Writing this update for Bailey’s mom Jana. So much has happened in the last week. It is hard to know where to start or how to put into words. Bailey crossed the rainbow bridge on Monday June 29th. She fought so hard. Her surgery originally scheduled for July 3rd was moved up to June 24th. We were so relieved - finally she would get the help she needed, get those pesky teeth removed and start healing. But during the procedure the vet raised concerns over something going on with her jaw. Xrays were taken, the dental procedure completed. The xrays were later read by a specialist and our worst fears were realized - she had cancer of the jaw. Those few days between the procedure, the xrays and the diagnosis were hard. Bailey could not get comfortable, could not eat. The initial hope was that she could recover from the surgery and have some quality of life for however much time she had left. But that was not going to happen and her mom Jana made the heartbreaking decision to let her rest.

There is so much appreciation for the support you have shown to Jana and Bailey. There was every reason to hope the dental procedure would solve the problem. While we question how it was that two different vets missed the signs of cancer there is nothing that can be done to reverse recent events. She did have the procedure - the final bill was $3,457.10 (this included the additional xray of the jaw added during surgery). Because of your generosity and the generosity of others this bill was paid that day. ...
