Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue
Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue is an all-volunteer, no-kill, no-cage haven for rescued kitties based in Hoover, Alabama. We are a registered 501c3 not for profit animal rescue. Our mission is the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of cats of all ages into loving homes. We obtained our not for profit status in May of 2017 and have not looked back! Since 2017 we have helped over 5000 cats and kittens find loving homes. Our activities include making sure each intake receives veterinary care such as physical exams, testing for FIV and Feline Leukemia, deworming, vaccinations, microchipping and spay/neuter when a safe size and age. Often times our efforts have to go above and beyond standard care to help injured and sick animals, including emergency veterinary care, hospitalizations, surgeries and specialist consults. We do not give up on the animals in our care and want to give them every chance to heal and go on to long and happy lives. Starting in 2022 we have become more involved in Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) activities. We focus on fixing feral colonies, rescuing young kittens and establishing feeding stations.
We have a central location, often referred to simply as “The Haven”, which is a freestanding home housing 50 to 55 adult and teenage cats at any given time. We have a large foster network of homes dedicated primarily to the care of kittens or adults with special needs. During peak summer months, the number of cats and kittens in foster care can sometimes exceed 300!
We welcome visitors to stop by and meet the cats at The Haven during the days we are open to the public or stop by one of our weekend adoption events held at a local pet store. Weekend schedules are posted on our Facebook page as well as on this website. Information on the application process can be found on this site under the heading “Application”.
